HISTORY

Over the years market consolidation has attributed to fewer alternatives for seal distributors. The “big boys” continue to “have their cake and eat it too” mentality increasingly bypassing distributors’ sales efforts. Many times distributors are “just another number” in the corporate structure processes. “If you don’t have our exact part number I cannot help you.”

Distributors have unsuccessfully tried to counter by developing product lines, but various factors including engineering expertise and sourcing knowledge made it difficult. Not aligning with the best source directly, even on only one application, has cost the distributors credibility.

In 2013 creating a better solution for the fluid power industry was realized with Black Hawk Seals.
